What materials are used in the products?

All our products are BPA-free, PVC-free, and Latex-free. Ovalware specializes in products made out of Stainless Steel and Borosilicate Glass. 

Stainless Steel 

Most of our products that are made of stainless steel use 304 stainless steel. 304 Stainless steel is also known as 18/8 Stainless Steel, A2 Stainless Steel. 

A great property of stainless steel is that it does not rust. However, people who live in regions with high calcium content tap water (hard water) may find mottling discolorations built up in their coffee brew-ware. 

You can remove this discoloration by filling the kettle with one part vinegar to three parts water and bring the mixture to a boil. Then take it off the heat and let it cool to the touch before discarding the mixture.

The stainless steel used in our stainless steel filters is tested by SGS for heavy metal. The material contains no detectable heavy metals including aluminum, lead, and cadmium. Please rest assured- although our products are made in factories from China, we uphold them to USA standards. 

Borosilicate Glass 

All of our glass products are made with high resilient borosilicate glass, meaning they can withstand sudden high changes in temperatures (up to 170℃)  without a problem; therefore, they are microwavable and dishwasher safe! Our borosilicate glass is also SGS and TUV tested for heavy metal.

Borosilicate Glass can also withstand temperature from -22F ~ 355F (-30℃ ~ 180℃)

LEAD QUESTIONS:

The stainless steel filter in the cold brew maker is assembled through welding, and not through soldering. The filter is made of 304 stainless steel, also known as 18/8 stainless steel or A2 stainless steel. The cold brew maker, along with the included stainless steel filter, is tested by SGS for heavy metal. The product contains no detectable heavy metals including aluminum, lead, and cadmium.
